Description

c1933 Gibson L-50 Archtop. Stunning condition for an instrument nearing on 90 years old. Solid carved Adirondack Spruce top. While the FON number is not legible, this L-50 can be dated to within 12 months of 1933 given the instrument's distinct aesthetic appointments including the mother of pearl inlayed script logo and white bound celluloid pickguard. As per 1933 spec, this archtop features a 'V' neck profile. While the instrument is in remarkable condition, no acoustic instrument of this age can remain truly playable without ongoing attention. Works completed on the instrument have been done to an exceptionally high standard. This L-50 has seen a flawless neck reset making the instrument wonderfully playable. A high-quality re-fret and fret plane. A beautifully sculpted and polished unbleached bone nut. Replaced period correct tuner buttons. The machine heads themselves are original to the instrument and in remarkable condition. The instrument presents as very well respected throughout its life and very much an heirloom quality vintage Gibson. Includes a non-original, relatively modern hardcase.
