Here we have a 1971 Gibson Byrdland in Sunburst. The Byrdland was the creation of two highly respected Jazz guitarists Billy Byrd and Hank Garland. This is certainly a lovely example of finely crafted archtop with tasteful aesthetic from Gibson for the period. These first hit the market back in 1955 and were essentially a custom built thinner L-5CES with a shorter scale and narrow neck profile. Spruce top, maple body, ebony fingerboard and featuring deluxe appointments such as the flowerpot headstock inlay, pearloid block inlays, 7 ply binding gold hardware, deluxe waffleback tuners, ornate trapeze tailpiece, a tortoiseshell pickguard and 'stinger' headstock. Notably a lovely flame adorns the neck. The body itself coming in at two inches deep, and 17” wide at the lower bout. Lightweight and a stunning sounding instrument. A fine piece of Gibson history.

Comes with the original hardcase. Made in the US of A.
