A 1970s Telecaster for the type of player who enjoys player-grade vintage. Particularly resonant and light for a mid 1970s Tele, particularly one with an Ash body. Nicely worn in maple neck with F-Stamp tuners. The original frets have been dressed and getting on the low side, but play perfectly as the instrument stands. Pickups have been replaced with a vintage-voiced boutique set. Bridge has been replaced with a Wilkinson 3-saddle-compensated brass number. Output jack plate has been replaced with a flush-mounted steel 'LP' style unit. Output jack has also been replaced with a newer switch craft. Volume pot replaced. The original gloss natural finish has been cut back, as such the instrument presents with a matte finish. A 6-saddle bridge is also included with the sale.
Despite a considerable list of modifications, this Telecaster offers exceptional value for money in its own right; even putting aside the instrument's vintage. A very sweet-sounding Telecaster with a story for less than 'Custom Shop' money. With 'more original' pre '75 Telecasters sitting in the $7,000 plus price point for well over 18 months now, this guitar makes for a very savvy purchase. Includes a 'shallow depth / black interior' c1980s Fender molded plastic hardcase. Made in USA, Serial number 649967.
