The now very much discontinued 'American Vintage' series of reissues Fender USA was producing through the early 2000s are (at least in my opinion) some of the best players instruments Fender has produced in modern times. Accurate vintage specs, a high level of quality control, some great reissue years and lacquer finishes which age nicely over time. What we have here is one of those ol' gems. Hard to find colour for this model - Lake Placid Blue. Sweet L-Series specs throughout. Round lam Rosewood board, maple neck, 7.25" fretboard radius, mid 60s C neck profile, Kluson tuners... you get the drift. Aesthetically decent but with some definitely play wear... some paint chips here and there... in Fender terms, somewhere between a 'closet classic' and a 'relic' finish... but authentic! This one's seen some aesthetic modifications too. White guard has been replaced with black, the control plate has been flipped around to have the 3-way switch towards the jack side of the guitar, and the switch tip has been replaced with a black Strat style. Bridge has been replaced with a vintage style 6-saddle intonatable number. The guitar includes its original G&G reissue case and a swathe of lovely case candy. Made in USA, Serial number V1205254.
