An immaculately presented 1955 Les Paul Standard that has been converted to 1957 specs; featuring original ARB-1 bridge, stop tailpiece and studs, a genuine 1950s PAF humbucking pickpup at the bridge, a 1960s patent number pickup at the neck, Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and a Honduran mahogany body with carved maple cap. The guitar was professionally restored by Cris Mirabella, NY, and Dave Johnson Restorations (both in the USA) which included a refret with period correct fretwire (previously the guitar was refretted with jumbo frets), fretboard rebound with original '50s binding, and a complete refinish with period correct paints/lacquer, and approriate checking/ageing to match.
Condition is excellent overall with the aforementioned lacquer checking, minimal playwear, and standard ageing of chrome parts. Sonically the guitar is exceptional, the pickups have all of the signature clarity and drive that have made them the most sought after of vintage pickups.
Included is a 'Lifton' style hard case, please review all photographs as they form part of the description.
