A gorgeous 1965 Fender Mustang with original Dakota Red finish. Designed and marketed as a mid-line Fender model, the Mustang is known for it's slightly smaller form which makes for a very comfortable guitar to play and wear at home, in the studio and onstage. The L serial number denotes this specific Mustang was made in the period just prior to the period when Fender was purchased by the company CBS, also known as a pre-CBS model. The 1965 Mustang features and alder body finished in Dakota Red and a short scale 22.5" length maple neck with rosewood fingerboard.
This guitar is in great condition for its age, with the usual small signs of wear for a 50+ year old vintage guitar and some slight damage and rough alteration to the decal (see photos). The original hard-shell case is also included.
