A beautiful players Martin D-18. Well aged, played and travelled 1970 model. This instrument captures that classic Mahogany dreadnought voicing central to so many recordings we cherish. Loud, balanced, rich and dynamic with strong note fundamentals.
Being a 50 year old acoustic instrument there has seem some modifications and repairs which has kept the instrument going over the years. Most noticeably a replacement pickguard and 'under the hood' an old glue repair to secure a loose brace, as well as an internal patched crack repair on the lower side.
Neck angle is good and the action is very playable with movement within the geometry of the instrument for adjustment.
Included with the instrument is a quality hardcase which fits the instrument well, however, it is not original to the guitar.
Early '70s Martin guitars represent exceptional value for those seeking a quality USA made acoustic guitar while preferring an instrument with age at a price comparable to a new Martin guitar. These instruments won't remain 'sleepers' forever!
