{"product_id":"1974-gibson-55-special-usa-sunburst-hsc","title":"1974 Gibson '55 Special (USA, Sunburst, HSC)","description":"Heavens to murgatroyd...the fabled Gibson '55 Special from 1974. Non pancake body, non volute neck. Originally (of course) a 2 x P90 affair, this one has had the bridge replaced with a Seymour Duncan ABH1, the neck is the original clear bobbin P90 with factory 'goof ring'. Ok, the nitty gritty...changed knobs, changed truss cover. Missing pickguard and some extra holes too. There is a stable crack in the neck near the headstock. A new jack has been added and there are new caps under the hood too. Smallish hole on the top where the obligatory coil tap switch was at some point. Strap pins replaced. Replaced bridge with...BadAss. Pots date to 1974. i've always wanted one of these and I bet some of you have too, Pickup balance is very good, and that neck P90 sounds a little bit like the world coming to an end...in a really glorious way. Frets have some pitting, Neck is slim, and very comfortable. Colour me impressed. The Norlin era may have had many detractors but when they got it right, they got it right, and this guitar is a pretty good example of it. It gets you well and truly in the ballpark of its 50s cousin. Made in the USA, and comes with a beaut yellow lined vintage case. SN 502228 Weight: 3.85kgs \"It's fun, but the fun is where it always was. I mean, it's still fun to strap on my Les Paul in the basement and turn up the Marshall amp. I'm still 15. I still enjoy that as much as I ever did\" \n- Paul Westerberg","brand":"Gibson","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":52991778357560,"sku":"ET4081","price":3950.0,"currency_code":"AUD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/2689\/3554\/files\/ET408110-9-26-5534.jpg?v=1789794463","url":"https:\/\/echotone.com.au\/products\/1974-gibson-55-special-usa-sunburst-hsc","provider":"Echo Tone","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
