{"product_id":"1974-gibson-l6-s-custom-usa-natural-ohsc","title":"1974 Gibson L6-S Custom (USA, Natural, OHSC)","description":"Bill Lawrence designed Gibson L6-S. Hot output pickups for the time (over 10K a piece) and the first Gibson guitar to ever have 24 frets. Carlos Santana was an early adopter of this model and even called it 'His rainbow' oh yeah. Keith Richards picked up one for a second too (around 'Black and Blue) This is also the first Gibson L6-S I have seen that has factory Gibson 'goof rings' around the pickup. Wild. Pots date to the 50th week of 1973, so I'm calling this a solid 1974 guitar (as I'm sure you know, 70s Gibson serial numbers are by no means a precise science). The strap pin has been moved from the back top the top bout (common mod) and Schaller Tuners are in place of the Grover Tuners these came out with..plugged holes (please see pics) Wiring is stock and has the crazy six way switch. Original pickups are in place. Frets still have life, wear on the maple board. Slim taper neck, narrown nut width. I'm biased, I own one of these from around the same time, they are a kooky, great sounding, 70s ride, that does it's own thing..Made in the USA and comes with the original purple lined Gibson case.
