Inspired by the Golden Era of early 20th Century flat top guitars, the Dirty 30s series of instruments from Recording King offer quality appointments and vintage stying at an unbelievable price.
Neatly built with super tight and resonant ‘Cross Lap’ bracing, the tonal magic of these instruments can be attributed in part to what can’t be seen. We’re yet to see another series of instruments even close to this price point engineered so beautifully and precisely under the hood.
Spruce tops paired with bone nuts and saddles give these instruments a brilliant, immediately recognisable classic acoustic tone, while vintage appointments such as Harmonella Stencil fretboard markers, ivory coloured binding and simply bound soundholes give the 7 series a timeless look.
Forget modern sounding Piezo pickup systems! This Recording King comes fitted from the factory with a 1960s style ‘Gold Foil’ soundhole pickup.
Gold Foil pickups were famously found in many of the now-sought-after 1950s-1960s USA made ‘catalogue guitars’ (think Harmony, Silvertone, Kay), known for their outstanding warmth and natural harmonic content, ie. a perfect character filled pickup for your parlour guitar – as it’s a passive pickup, no batteries are required either!
The Series 7 Size 0 Parlour delivers that woody, dry and boxy vintage spank in spades. What a perfect couch (or stage) guitar!
