1981 was the first year the Tokai ES series were introduced. These early models featured the period correct 'micky mouse' ears and top/back carve. This model also features a sunburst gloss nitro lacquer finish, maple body with maple center block, and a one-piece mahogany neck. The neck profile is that of a '59 spec which is nice and chunky. The guitar also has its original pair of Goto (not Gotoh) PAF humbuckers. As it is a 43 year old instrument there are signs of wear, the original frets are intact and have plenty of life left. The original stoptail piece and tuneomatic bridge have been replaced. 1981 Tokai ES100R Made in Japan serial 1011787. A great 59/60 style ES-335 from Tokai
