Please include as many clear, detailed photos as possible, along with any background info you know about the item(s).

Want to bring it in? Drop by the store at 19 Arthurton Rd, Northcote, VIC — one of our appraisal staff will be here to help. Calling ahead is totally fine, but not essential.

Consignment

Please contact us before bringing in any items — especially large gear like amps or cabinets.

We’re happy to sell your gear on consignment — meaning we display your item in-store and online, and once it sells, you receive the final sale price minus a 20% consignment fee.

Consigning with Echo Tone is a great way to ensure your instrument sells for its true value, especially if it’s a collectible. Our team are specialists in vintage and second-hand gear, with strong buyer networks both in Australia and overseas. Every consignment includes a professional appraisal.

Before bringing your item in, please give it a clean and make sure the strings are fresh. If the gear needs cleaning, servicing, or restringing to meet our standards, we’ll charge a flat fee up front.

Terms & Conditions

All items are consigned for a minimum two-month exclusive term.
During this time, please don’t list your item elsewhere (e.g. Marketplace, Gumtree, Reverb). This allows us to properly photograph, list, and sell the gear.
Items on consignment are fully insured against theft, fire, and breakage (to the agreed payout amount — sale price less 20%).

Electronics (Amps, Synths, Pedals, etc.)
While we take great care in handling and showcasing your gear, vintage electronics can be unpredictable. We can't be held responsible for any faults that may develop while consigned.

Consignment Payouts
If your item appears as “SOLD!” on our website and you haven’t been paid yet, don’t stress — the sale might still be in process (e.g. on lay-by or shipping to a buyer).
Payouts are processed once the sale is finalised:

7 days after in-store purchase or lay-by completion
7 days after delivery for interstate or international sales

Payments are made via EFT and usually clear within 2–3 business days.
