Contact us via text via the red icon in the bottom right corner of the screen, email us at info@echotone.com.au or call us on (03) 9939 0752 for a chat.
Please send us as many detailed photos as possible, and as much detail as you know about the item(s) and their history.
Alternatively, bring your instrument(s) down to our store at 19 Arthurton Rd, Northcote, Victoria and one of our appraisal staff will be here to help. Calling ahead is welcome but not required.
We thank you for considering us as we hope to continue proving ourselves as top buyers of vintage and second-hand guitars.
** We'll happily purchase items from interstate sellers, please contact the store for details **
Consigning with us:
** Due to our current level of inventory, consignments are currently only being accepted on a case-by-case basis with many bulky items and pedals being a firm pass **
We regularly take gear to sell on consignment — this means we sell your item on your behalf and display it in our store and on our website. Upon sale of your item at an agreed price you receive of the final sale price minus our 20% consignment fee.
Selling an instrument through our store, particularly if it’s a collectible piece, ensures you are selling your item for the right price. Our staff are vintage and second hand instrument experts, with immense exposure buyers both domestically and internationally. An expert appraisal forms a part of our consignment process.
Unfortunately we can't take every instrument as space is limited. Prior to bringing it in store, ensure you give your item a good clean and ensure strings are fresh to give it the best chance of selling! Instruments or gear that requires servicing will be subjected to a cleaning, servicing or re-stringing fee to be paid upfront should an item not meet our standards.
Terms & Conditions:
We require a minimum consignment term of two months wherein we offer your item for sale exclusively.
Please do not list your item(s) elsewhere (e.g. on marketplace / Gumtree / Reverb etc.) while they are on consignment with us. This ensures that we can properly invest time in professionally photographing, documenting and above all selling the instrument.
All items left in our care on consignment are fully insured for theft, loss in fire and breakages (to the agreed payout sum, price less 20% consignment fee).
Electronic Items/Components (e.g. amps, effects, synths, etc.): While our staff are trained in the handling of second hand and vintage items, and all due care is made to ensure the careful handling, demonstration and merchandising of such consignment goods, please note due to the nature of vintage and second hand electronics, amplifiers, keyboards and the like; we do not take responsibility for faults which may arise in the items whilst in our possession.
If your item appears to be sold on our website but you have not yet received payment, it may be in-progress, on lay-by or in transit to an interstate or international buyer. Consignment sales are paid out after the sale is finalised, which includes a 7-day cooling off period.
After the sale is finalised, payouts are remitted via EFT and can take 2-3 business days to clear, depending on the financial institution you bank with. You'll be informed of our full payout details at the time of your consignment.
Trade-Ins:
With a Trade-In, we can offer credit towards anything in the store to help you get your desired instrument. Turn a few guitars into one, or one guitar into many.
If you're interested in a trade, get in via text via the red icon in the bottom right corner of the screen, email us at info@echotone.com.au or call us on (03) 9939 0752 for a chat about what you've got, and what you want.
Just as with the above, please send us as many detailed photos as possible, and as much detail as you know about your item(s) and their history.
