Description

Produced from 1983-85 this is a bit of a rare bird, a Yamaha SG-1300-24, 24 standing for, of course, 24 frets. Even though this guitar has 24 frets, the scale length is the same as the standard SG1300.

It is not too heavy, weighing in at 3.75 kgs.

If you are familiar with the Yamaha SG's neck profile it might be worth bearing in mind that the SG1300-24 has a slightly skinnier neck, which is super fast and easy to get around on.

When this particular model came out it was only available in Cherry Sunburst, or the slightly more wild Blue Metallic like the one we have here.

The Yamaha pickups in this sound very nice, and can also be coil split via the push pull tone knobs.

Tarnishing is present on all the gold hardware, but overall this guitar is in very good condition all over, and has plenty of life left in the frets. All parts appear to be stock to this guitar.

It's a lovely piece of 1980s guitar building, and you can see why many players in that decade including Stuart Adamson and my personal favourite John McGeogh chose to wield these guitars.

Made in Japan, and comes with the original hardshell case. #131934
