Description

Ive always loved Gibson  “jazz box” archtop hollow body guitars. From the L5 to the Barney Kessel and in later years the Tal Farlow. Their unique acoustic like tonality adding a certain richness to an amplified sound, particularly through a clean Fender amp with plenty of reverb…divine, deluxe appointments . This is a well loved example of a late nineteen sixties CES Super 400 in a delightful lighter burst. Originally launched in 1934 as the biggest and highest-end archtop of the Gibson line. The electric Super 400 CES followed in 1951 and remained Gibson's flagship archtop guitar for decades. There have been several variations and reissues produced since, including this contemporary version from the Gibson Custom Shop. Of note this features the stinger headstock. Comes with the original hardcase.
