Description
Lovely Fender Bassman from 1964. Heralded as the cream and the crop for classic rock tones, the perfect pedal platform with high headroom to amazing breakup and wonderfully dark sounding beefy bottom end. Certainly a favourite among many through the 1960s both guitarists and bass players alike.. The Beatles (yes they used these in the studio) Pete Townshend and Brian Setzer.
It features the highly coveted 6G6-B circuit in excellent condition and in good working order.
Imported to Australia in the 1990's it was converted from 110v to 240v. Original speakers were missing and cabinet was fitted with Celestion G12S-50 speakers (same as Brian Setzer used in his amps for clean rockabilly tones) Upon purchase the amp was in poor cosmetic state and restored with newer blonde tolex (not period correct) as at the time this was the only reproduction beige tolex available. New gold sparkle grill cloth was fitted. The chassis straps, corners, and raised fender logo, along with the piggypack lip bars were also rechromes. The faceplate is all original and is very clean with original white barrel knobs. The circuit is virtually all original with the blue moulded Ajax tone caps still present in the circuit, along with the original cloth wiring.
Work performed by Sherlock amplification.
A fine piece of vintage kit. Made in the USA
