Description
An amp I've heard called the ' poor mans Dumble'
Well, I'm not sure if that's true, however, these Paul Rivera designed Fender amps definitely have an ardent following out there.
This is an 18 watt 1 x 10" speaker US made amp from 1982, yep the Rivera years. It features hand wired construction, and yes, this may have been an attempt by Fender to match the success of Mesa Boogie with their 'souped up vintage' style amps. Either way, the Fender Super Champ is a great sounding, loud enough for a grab and go and definitely a killer studio piece.
It has a lead boost channel that can be accessed with a foot switch (not included but we have them for sale) and reverb on board.
The amp is currently (sorry) running on 110V, so you'll need a stepdown to run it..however it still has the original Schumacher mains transformer.
Just back from a service at 'The Tone Lab', this thing is good to go for another 40 years.
Is a Blues Junior good for blues?
Is a Jazz Chorus good for jazz?
I don't know the answers to those questions.
...but, is a 1982 Super Champ, super?
The answer is yes.
Made in the USA.
