Description
From 1967 we have a beautiful Gibson ES-355 TDSV in tasty Cherry Red.
The cream of the crop of the Gibson Electric Spanish line..top of the range, the caddillac: The Gibson ES-355 TDSV. Next to its siblings the ES330, ES335, and ES345 it features deluxe appointments: stereo wiring, variatone switch, gold hardware, bound ebony fingerboard, pearl block inlays, bound fingerboard and Gibson Lyrebird Vibrola.
Oodles of patina on this absolute classic in line with age. The pickups are original patent stickered humbuckers. The bridge pickups base plate had bent legs which prohibited it from properly seating, the least intrusive way to deal with this issue was replacing the base plate of this pickup (which has been done so with an old Seymour Duncan) - the original is included with the sale (pictured). The original Kluson Waffleback machine heads were replaced with Grover Rotomatics several years ago.
Whilst these were commonly a stereo model this has been seen a mono conversion and thus the variatone circuit removed. It has been refretted and certainly played and enjoyed for many years. It has had a full mono re-loom with the addition of new CTS pots, switch, output jack, new bridge, strap buttons (originals included in the sale) and tenon join reglued. Made in USA serial 112667 . Comes with the Lifton Gibson yellow lined case.
