Ken Sommers is an elusive chap in the nicest possible way. More content to be building guitars and ukuleles than to be handling the ‘business’ side of things, one gets the feeling that it is more about creation and music than the dollar. This I feel shows in his straightforward, unique sounding builds. Made exclusively of Australian wood, one would pay a lot more a ‘name brand’ build. In fact, when I asked Ken what name he wanted to put on his instruments, he was reticent to use his own name. He doesn’t build many guitars in a year, but we are lucky to have a few in stock at the moment. The one we have here is called 'Jake'. Jake has a solid Spruce top, solid Snakewood back and sides, a solid Snakewood neck with a Native Olive fingerboard.
