Description

Damn fine playing '64 Tennessean.

Like most old Gretsches, has had a bit of work to keep it 'on the road' so to speak.

Has been re-fretted in-house and had a previous neck reset (before we got our hands on it) so it plays properly and holds strong. Once routed for humbuckers (someone won't be getting into heaven) has now been restored with newer Gretsch Hilotrons. No visible holes can be seen as the surrounds cover all sins. The black on the top of the pickup covers is a replacement.

Tuners have been replaced (probably back in the day) with vintage Grovers. Bridge, Bigsby and bridge are stock. Pickguard has a minor crack, but is hanging in there. Control knobs have been replaced with Baldwin era gold Gretsch knobs.

It might be the ugly duckling but the heart of this guitar is nestled firmly in 1964, and it is an absolute joy to play, and Hilotrons wound up, do a thing that nothing else does.

Comes with a hardshell case.
