Description
Yep, the 1979 Fender 25th Anniversary Stratocaster.
These guitars had a little bit of a bug when they came out...the finish used to fall off the body.
So, some clever sausage has refinished this guitar in silver..it's nowhere close to the right colour, and it's not the best job I've seen, but also not the worst. The neck too has had a refinish too, again, not the best job.
The guitar still maintains the original neck plate, '1954-1979, 25th Anniversary' and all the parts appear to be stock..These guitars were made in 1979 in fairly limited numbers and in good condition (which is rare to find owing to the finish bug I mentioned) they are getting up there in price..
The guitar may have but lost its collectable value as an Anniversary but it's still a 1970s strat.
So...
...I think this would make a great gigging guitar just the way it is, or strip to natural, chuck a bucker in the bridge, a weed sticker on the body and pretend you're Fast Eddie Clarke.
Made in the USA, and going cheep, cheep.
