Description
Wow, Gibson Les Paul Silverburst. Part of a short run of Standards made with the very cool Silverburst finish towards the end of the 1980s. Pots date to 1989 and it has the stock set of very awesome Gibson “The Original” Bill Lawrence hot PAFs.
This was part of a small run made to celebrate 'House Of Guitars' 25th Anniversary. 25 guitars were made with a 25th Anniversary inlay on an Ebony board. This one is HOG-022.
A couple of points to note. The pickguard ring is cracked, and a couple of knobs are replacements, and the guitar wears plenty of scars. Frets have around 65 percent life. The headstock has had a break and repair. Plays great the way it is...but would be a set up for many years to come with a pro refret.
Plug it in and it comes alive with that big late 80s punch. The Bill Lawrence pickups, made for a short few years, are one of Gibsons most underrated pickup sets, hot and yet with clarity.
This guitar being from a short, individually numbered run is not a thing that you see bob up in the market too often if at all. It is almost in the 'find another' category. I'm not too sure how it winged its way all the way to Australia, but we are very happy to have it in the shop at the moment.
Made in the USA, with the original hardshell case included.
