Description
Pots date to 1989 and it has a set of Gibson “The Original” Bill Lawrence hot PAFs. Here is where it gets kooky. The headstock has had a break and repair, and a mystery serial number, HOG-022, has been added. The original serial is long gone, rubbed out by the sands of time.
The fingerboard is ebony with a 25th Anniversary inlay. It does not look like a reboard and the neck shape lines up with a 1989 Les Paul. Could be an employee guitar. Could be a repair job where someone added their own serial. Hard to say and it does not matter much.
A Silverburst Standard is a rare bird and this one looks cool. Pickguard ring is cracked, a couple of knobs are replacements, and the guitar wears plenty of scars. Frets have around 65 percent life. Plug it in and it comes alive with that big late 80s punch. It is not cheap, but for a colour they made very few of in Standard format, it sits in a reasonable place.
Made in the USA. Original hardshell case included.
