History were an in house brand for the Shimokura chain in Japan... typically Fuji-Gen made.
Full hollow construction with a warm, open voice that leans more woody than woolly, with enough clarity to keep things articulate when you dig in.
Nicely balanced across the strings and responds well to a lighter touch. Pickguard-mounted electronics are a pretty cool little touch!
Neck carve sits in that comfortable medium zone.... feels familiar straight away.
Acoustically, it’s lively, and plugged in it carries that dry, rounded jazz character.
Fit and finish is right where you’d expect from a higher-end Japanese build.
Satin nitro top coat makes the thing feel right.
Clean binding work, tidy frets, and overall just a very solid, dependable instrument.
