Description

A beautiful example of a second-year double-cut Gretsch 6120 with possible factory customs specs, including Grover Imperial tuning machines, a Space-Control bridge and beautifully flamy maple top and back. 

 

Year: 1962

Finish: Original Orange Nitrocellulose Finish

Body Material: Laminate maple.

Neck Material: Maple with a walnut stripe.

Fingerboard Material: Ebony.

Neck Profile: Slim C-Shape 1960s Gretsch neck profile.

Neck Details: The neck has been professionally re-bound and re-fretted.

Pickups: Two original Gretsch Filter-Tron humbucking pickups.

Electronics: Standard early-1960s 6120 electronics. Master volume, volume for each pickup, 3-way tone switch, on-off-on kill switch, and a 3-way pickup toggle switch.

Hardware: Grover Imperial machine heads, Bigsby tremolo system, and a Space-Control bridge.

Modifications / Repairs: The bridge has been pinned down at some stage of its lifetime. 

Cosmetic Condition: Overall the instrument is in very good condition for its age, exhibiting no major wear or damage, with the exception of some minor wear patches and binding rot present around the neck heel, as well as a larger dent on the back of the neck around the 4th fret.

Tech Notes: Currently Setup with a medium-low action and is playing beautifully. There are lots of life left in the original frets.
