Description
Late ‘60s slope-shouldered soul with all the right scars.
This 1967 Epiphone FT79 Texan is dry, deep, and full of breath — a lifer’s guitar with tone that lingers.
The sunburst top has mellowed beautifully, with tasteful lacquer checking across the body and sides.
It’s had the usual Texan tweaks: adjustable bridge removed, pickup added, and a replaced truss cover.
Saddle is sitting a little low, not in need of a neck reset at the moment..
Stable crack repair between neck heel and rosette. Otherwise all original and sounding absolutely right.
Made in USA, serial 69944.
Comes in a one of those expensive late-‘60s pink-lined Gibson archtop case (albeit with a broken handle).
