Up for grabs is this seriously radical 1967 drip edge 50 watt fender bassman head modded by BillyZ in the states. BillyZ’s LongHorn mod turns the normal channel into a beautifully lush sounding blackface channel. Not sure what Billy does here but it is very warm and sweet sounding. Never harsh or cold. Gets the bluesy grind that a cranked BF Bassman are known for. The bass channel is transformed into a trainwreck/marshall style circuit. Super dynamic like a trainwreck and grinds like a marshall plexi. Very loud, very crunchy and raw. There’s a cathode or fixed bias switch on the rear, both sound incredible depending on taste. The output transformer is replaced with a huge Mercury Magnetics transformer (still running at 110v) allowing the impedance to be switched between 4, 8 and 16 ohm. Ala Marshall JMP… If you’re looking for a vintage amp that will drive a full stack, is point to point wired, will make you deaf as a doorknob and sounds like sonic heaven, this might be it! You’ll leave your overdrive pedals at home after hearing this, it’s terrifying… Includes a padded cover
