1969 MCI M300 Guitorgan Guitar Organ (Ventura V-1400)

When it comes to Gibson style archtops the Barney Kessel is the icing on the cake for me. Hands down one of the finest and coolest guitars they ever produced in my humble opinion next to the ES-335 and ES-355.

During the lawsuit era of the 60s and 70s in Japan companies such as Ventura, Ibanez and others faithfully recreated the legendary instrument as the V-1400.

Through the 60s and into the 1980s Bob Murrell / MCI music were taking the stock Ventura V-1400 Japanese bodies and converting and filling them with their Guitorgans with their electronics. Around 3000 of these were made.

This has been returned to more of a traditional BK format with the organ electrics removed, a refret and all around TLC. Would make a fun restoration project for those who are on the hunt for a Kessel without breaking the bank.
