Description
Pete Townshend is more than responsible for the lack of late '60s early 70s Gibson SG Specials in the world...I think you know what I mean. I don't know about you, but I reckon his guitar sound on Live At Leeds, is pretty damn unbeatable..a late '60s SG Special, Super Fuzz, Hiwatt Amp….
What we have here is a super vibey 1970 Gibson SG Special packed with patina. The original cherry finish has faded to a darker almost brown over its many laps around the sun.
Still loaded with its original P-90s this is one great sounding, and playing SG. In its early inception these models featured a short lyre vibrato which has long since been removed and replaced with a wraparound tailpiece. The electronics are intact and all original . The original machine heads were replaced long ago with Grovers. It has been refretted with jumbo frets thats have plenty of life in them and show minor signs of wear. Very comfortable chunky D shaped neck profile. Ready for rock and or roll.
Made In the USA in 1970, the same year that Live At Leeds was recorded.
Comes with a non original case. Made in USA serial 908927
