Super cool refinished P Bass that was modded in the 1970s to be an (somewhat) acid green beast.
Sacrilege I hear you say? No, I won't hear of it...Shoot, this bass was only a few years old when it had a fresh coat of paint..and in the 1970s Fender guitars grew on trees, the grass was infinitely greener (if you'll pardon the pun) and the world was still full of mystery and wonder.
So what is under the hood...
Good news..
Neck dates to March 1972.
The beautiful tortoiseshell pickguard (why can't they make tort like this anymore) in is intact but does have some extra holes.
1 pot dates to 1971, the tone pot is probably '71 too but has solder over the date.
Pickup wires have been extended, and the jack has been changed at some point.
Looks like this bass was originally a classic Fender Sunburst finish.
Aside from all that, this sucker is light, and plays incredibly. Renovate or don't, but definitely don't detonate.
Comes with the original hardshell case.
