Description
Funky Guild JS-II made in..wait for it, 1973...yep, the same year as Iggy & The Stooges Raw Power record.
Wear, scuffs and scratches.
Couple of changes from stock. Badass bridge added in place of the original. This may actually be an upgrade in a way..kinda improves the stability. A little plate has been added to cover the original bridge (at the back) tidy work. Strap pins have been moved, the back of the heel one to the horn and the rear moved up..some holes remain. 2 of the pickup screws have been replaced. Still running those fine Guild original pickups, and wiring and pots date to early 1973.
Neck angle is usually a bit haphazard on these 70s Guild electrics, but this one is super playable.
Truss rod is functioning perfectly in both directions.
You know what these basses sound like..thick, fat, low end wild, warm...and if you don't, then you owe it to yourself to demo this thing..it's a godamn beast.
Needless to say, I'm a fan, and this would be the bass I would own if I could play bass to any level of decency. God bless the 1970s yet again.
Made in the USA and comes with (probably) the original brown Australian made, orange lined case, with a replacement rough and ready handle, made from a tooled leather belt. Stickers on the case are Dean Markley and Peavey..because they are.
