Before you ask, it is not a boat anchor, at 3.9kgs.
For some reason we are seeing less of these original run Tele Customs come through for sale..I dunno why?
Couple of changes from stock on this one. The 1970s De Rigueur coil tap switch on the pickguard, and the neck Wide Range pickup is a new Fender Cunife replacement. There are a couple of holes around and on the guard near the neck pickup (please see pics). Strat style tip on the pickup selector. Bridge pickup has had a professionally repaired rout around it. There is a small rout in the neck pickup cavity from a previous humbucker. There is some sanding in the neck pocket and heel of the neck, some of which is visible. The pots are a mix of '73, '74 and '66...not absolutely uncommon to see, but worth mentioning. The guitar has been refretted (of course) and the switch tip and strap pins have been changed. Bigsby trem holes filled. Plenty of solder and resolder marks under the guard too.
Yes, this Telecaster has had a life, and many changes along the way. Definitely player grade, but a nice foot into vintage Fender that won't break the bank. Made in the USA and comes with the original very tatty and repaired orange lined Fender case.
