Description

In my opinion Antigua is a beautiful finish..and I promise not to bang on about 70's bathroom colours or even avocado dip, but it did cross my mind. Ok, lets get the weight of this guitar out of the way, straight away. It weighs in at a very nice even 4kgs, which, for a 1979 Stratocaster is actually well and truly on the light end of the spectrum. Under the hood the pickups are all stock, and dare I say, sound fantastic. The middle pickup tone pot has been replaced and also some of the wires have been bridged. Even though there is wear on the guard, this guitar is still running with the original frets, there is a tiny amount of pitting, near, yep, you guessed it, the cowboy chord area...no need for a dress at this stage, unless you really want to.. Isn't it strange that the Fender Antigua colour was made initially to cover manufacturing flaws with the Coronado ...oh shoot, I can't say it like Guitar Nerd does, so I hope he doesn't mind me sticking this here https://guitarnerd.com.au/2009/09/antigua-awesomeness/ . Anyways, love it or hate it, this colour has become such a unique piece of Fender history..and it just so happens that it's over the top of Stratocaster, which has its fair share of fans too. F911960, comes with the original case.
