1981 Epiphone Emperor (Japan, Sunburst, HSC)

SOLD!

Description

A jazzbox with plenty o' gusto and incredibly comfortable in the hand from the get go with a warm resonance and sustain.  From 1981 we have an Epiphone Emperor in a lovely darker sunburst. Matsomuko made and solid as a rock. A fine example of a Japanese built Epiphone. These were made for a short period between the late 70s into the early 80s.

This model featured deluxe appointments such as gold hardware, a bound ebony fingerboard with V block pearloid inlays along with the pearl vine tree of life headstock inlay, frequensator tailpiece, tuneomatic bridge and witch hat knobs. These models also featured a solid spruce top, maple back and sides and a 17” lower bout. The frets are low but have life left, some tarnishing present on the gold hardware in line with age. The machine heads have been replaced at some stage of its tenure along with the pick guard. Minor playwear present across the entirety of the instrument but still fighting fit for a 43 year old instrument.

Made in Japan serial 1102136 . Comes with a non original hardcase.
