Cool piece of Gibson history this.
Maple neck, non pancake body.
Original frets, with nibs intact. They are low, flat, speedy, as was the fashion of the time.
Binding has aged to a lovely nicotine yellow. Pickup surrounds are original, one has a hairline crack. New nut up the top. Plays better than a treat...if that is even possible.
Under the hood are the original Tim Shaw pickups..which, as everybody seems to know now, sound bloody incredible.
Grover tuners are in place of the original Gibson tuners and some holes remain from the stock ones.
No breaks or nasty repairs..just a damn fine standard. Dare I say, I'd take this over any Gibson Les Paul made in the last 25 years, anyday..
