Description
Yep, this is the same model and year as Jeff Buckley's Telecaster. Top Loader, Dan Smith era.
It's a bloody ripper, very resonant, heading towards the heavy side, but not crazy..at all. Tanline, on the top near the bridge. Would be a great candidate for a Bigsby I reckon.
Seymour Duncan in the bridge position and neck pickup has been changed too. Digging that 1 ply pickguard, which was original to this year and model.
Also has a brass nut which if you lived through the 1970s you would know adds sustain (haha) Pickup switch is also a replacement. Frets have life. Neck pickup screws are changed to phillips head. Wear on the back of the neck, that makes it feel, very much, like an old friend.
You say player grade, I say, rock and roll.
The early US standard Telecasters were a return to form for Fender, and I reckon this is a lot of Telecaster for the money.
Made in the USA.
