1986 Fender PJM-65M. Ultralight rock machine from Fender Japan’s Pro-Feel era, circa late 80s to early 90s. Black finish with gold hardware, maple fingerboard, and a comfortable 32 1/4" medium scale. Weighs in at just 3.25 kg, nice and easy on the shoulder, perfect for long sets. These appear to be pretty much interchangeable with the Lyte series of basses made at the same time.
Loaded with both P and J pickups, an active preamp, and all original knobs intact with their tops. Frets have plenty of life left, and the feel is fast and snappy with that maple board under your fingers.
Made in Japan, these Pro-Feel instruments were ahead of their time and remain underrated today. This one’s a great example: lightweight, versatile, and ready for stage or studio.
