2001 Fender Standard Stratocaster (Mexico, Blue Agave)

SOLD!

Description

These early-2000s Mexican Standards will always have a soft spot with me. My first real guitar, and my first Fender, came from this exact series. Maple neck, white Strat, absolutely rock solid. I eventually traded it to a mate when he proposed a trade for his Jazzmaster he just could not bond with, and that single swap quietly set me on the path of buying, selling, and chasing experiences across as many guitars as possible. Fast forward a couple of decades and a few thousand guitars and here we are. Anyway. Onto the guitar. This Mexican Standard Strat is exactly what these are known for. Solid, dependable, and uncomplicated. Finished in the great Blue Agave, a colour that nods nicely to the metallic Fender palette of the 1960s. The bridge pickup has been swapped for a humbucker, giving it a bit more muscle and leaning it firmly into rock territory. There is some cosmetic wear at the neck heel where the finish has cracked and peeled. The exposed timber has been painted in. This is purely aesthetic and completely non-structural, but it does mean the price reflects reality. A little ugly in one spot, very honest everywhere else, and ready to be played without stress. Made in Mexico Serial: MZ1081663 Weight: 3.5kg
