Description
Giovanni Tacchi, son of the well-known master luthier Andrea Tacchi has in recent years been taking up the craft of lutherie himself. He began his journey by producing what amounted to a 1-for-1 bench copy of a fantastic Daniel Friederich guitar that he had borrowed and studied extensively. Since then, he has experimented with the design, adding elements of his own, and this has resulted in this current model, which we now have here. Guitar Salon have remarked the following about this very guitar: “Structurally it is quite similar to Friederich and sound-wise as well - it has a deep, resonant and thick quality of tone across all registers, and as we've said about Friederich's guitars - there is also an almost reverb-like quality that is produced by the box, giving the guitar a huge, cathedral-like presence.”
Materials of course are well-selected, thanks to the generosity of his father who lets Giovanni select from his private stock of select woods. For the back and sides, he used a set of very dark Indian rosewood, which he personally believes to be the most beautiful type available.
Comes to us set up for concert performance, lightly played by its previous owner, and in its form-fitting hard case. Anything else we can possibly say about an instrument of this calibre is irrelevant, really. Come and play it for yourself!
