Description

Delicious Gibson ES-150.The first version of these was made from 1936-1940. The first version had a Charlie Christian pickup. The one we have here is from the second run (1940-1957) and came stock with a Gibson dog ear P90.

Gotta say, I'm a sucker for that beautiful angled script logo, with no 'only a Gibson is good enough' Banner, that was on their instruments post WW2 to around 1948.

This guitar comes to us with a couple of modifications. The machine heads have been replaced with a sturdy modern set of 'tulip button' Kluson style tuners, and the control knobs are repro c1960s Gibson style.

Original where it counds... the pickup, wiring harness and the P90 pickup are all factory stock.

Bridge and tailpiece are original, the tailpiece has a tiny bit of damage near the 'hinge' but is hanging in there.

Much of the finish has worn away on the neck..yep this guitar has sure as hell been played, but well looked after. The frets are pitted near the cowboy chord area, but it still feels AOK to play on at this stage.

Yet another cool piece of American guitar building history, that I am very happy to have had the pleasure to have in my hands. It really is something special.

Made in the USA, comes with a hardshell case.
