Description

This is only the second one of these T Birds that I have been lucky enough to have my hands on. The first was a sunburst around the same year as the one we have here.

Of course, Guild have reissued these, and they are nice guitars, but if you want the full 'Muddy Waters' experience, I really recommend plugging a vintage Thunderbird in...there is just something that you don't get from any other guitar (and I'm not talking about the Pat. Pending built in guitar stand)

There have been a couple of changes made to this guitar. The Burns trem has been removed and is stored nicely inside the vintage case. The guitar now features an added stop tail and a small piece of plastic covering up the hole left by the trem. A good ole reliable harmonica bridge has been added in the place of the original. Say what you want about these bridges, the amount of travel in them makes intonation a breeze, and so far, I've never 'cheese grated' my hand on one. All electronics are functioning as they should.

The neck has been oversprayed at some point, if I didn't know better it looks like a classic heel and headstock repair, but there appears to be no evidence of any break?! Of course, these guitars were prone to headstock breaks, mostly due to the inbuilt guitar 'stand'.

This guitar, though player grade, is still a very hard find, and even more so a hard find in Australia. Clean examples are tipping on the 10K mark, so this has been priced accordingly and I doubt you will find a guitar that sounds and looks as cool as this for the asking price.

Made in the USA, comes with the original case, and even has a cool serial number that goes like this #33346.
