Description
Made in East Germany in the 60s with some of the more recognizable traits of German builders like the "German carve" found on Rickenbackers and the Mosrite-style headstock volute. The Record 17 represents Musima's flagship instruments, and features a carved top in sunburst finish with P-90 style pickups, an ebony fingerboard inlaid with mother-of-pearl, and all-over matching body and neck binding. Plenty of wear and lacquer checking, but overall very good condition. The frets were recently replaced, and the jack was upgraded, with the original screw holes doweled. The bridge was replaced with a Klira (Czech-made) vibrato system, which was common in Eastern-Bloc guitars back then, and the original strap "buttons" are actually steel loops. The original tailpiece is included. Own a piece of musical history from behind the Iron Curtain! Gig bag included.
