Oh yep.
Growing up in New Zealand, Jansen stuff was the garage rock 'choice' for equipment. You'd see the amps and guitars around, and it was cool, because without getting too patriotic, they were made in our own country, and they gave you a little bit of a secret source of pride.
Anyways..this is an early Jansen Victor..from around 1961. Comes in the Australia made tweed case and also the original Jansen plastic bag (of which I had never seen before the time of writing this)
Ok, so the good news...plenty of fret life...Electronics are working great, and not only do those P90 pickups sound cool, they are probably the best looking P90 you are ever likely to see.
The action is not low, by any means, and I wouldn't say that 'this guitar has been set up for slide' but the neck set (probably from new) doesn't make for a super low action..It is by no means unplayable the way it is, but you are unlikely to get wizard on it. I should also mention that the pickguard screws are replacement (NZ didn't get Phillips head screws until 1972, and colour TV in 1973) and the wire that links the neck pickup to the tone and volume controls has been replaced.
All in all, a super choice piece, in quite lovely condition for a 64 year old
A rare bird, just like the Kiwi...
