Description
One of Martin’s more curious detours—the F-65 is part of the short-lived and often-overlooked F Series, built in Nazareth in the early '60s during the company’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it electric era. It’s the electric era Martin never really wanted to talk about—lucky for you, this one made it out alive.
This one’s got the look: a gently aged teaburst finish, laminate maple body, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The original DeArmond single coils sound exactly how they should—crisp, clear, and dripping with old-world charm. And yes, the original Lucite “Quixotic” bridge is still here, like a little piece of 1960s optimism frozen in time.
The tuners have been swapped out for a set of Schallers at some point, but the rest is all original. There’s honest wear throughout—finish checking, patina, and a few miles on the clock—but nothing that gets in the way of how well it plays.
Rare, slightly oddball, and packed with vintage character. Comes with its original case and plenty of stories to tell.
