c1975 Epiphone Riviera (Japan, Cherry, OHSC)

SOLD!

Description

Extremely cool mid 70s Epiphone Riviera semi hollow in tasty bright Cherry red finish over a maple top. ‘Blue label' examples are rather scarce and becoming harder to come across. These particular models were distributed domestically within Japan during the Matsumoku era throughout the 70s and before the Terada productions in the 80s.

It is in all original condition, loaded with a screamin’ pair humbuckers, frequensator tailpiece, bound fingerboard with split parallelogram inlays atop a rosewood board. Quite a medium to chunky neck profile too. The binding has faded to a nice creamy nicotine yellow and there is some spatters of binding rot but in no way does it effect the playability. There is some swirling and scratches to the back of the body caused by buckle rash. The machine heads have been replaced with Gibson Keystones. There is some oxidisation present to the hardware but all still functioning as it should.

It has recently had a setup and fret dress and now in optimal playing condition. Theres plenty of fret life left for years to come. An absolute ripper of a guitar and you can absolutely dig in to your hearts content.

Comes with the original hardcase. Made in Japan (Blue Label) 068012
