c1980s Harran Superstrat HSS (Australia, White, OHSC)

SOLD!

Description

Platonic ideal reverse pointy HSS supershredder in gloss black 'n' white - rocketing straight out of the cupboard where it was placed in 1986 to shred the night once more!

The previous owner tells us this was built for him in Melbourne some time in the mid 80s, but our radar antennae haven't managed to pick up anything about this builder or whether more guitars were made. It's dark out there. If you know anything about Harran (or Hannan?) let us know!

As for what we do know, it's 22 medium tall frets in a T H I C K ebony slab, bolted to a one piece maple neck with a profile so thin and flat it'd make Hoshino Gakki blush. This thing has gotta be no thicker than the truss rod and it's flat as a tack in the back, jack. One of the weirdest in-hand experiences money can buy. Will your money buy it? Are you wyld enough?

Body is likely basswood given the weight, pickups are a Duncan Distortion in the bridge with 2 EMG active single coils in the neck. It has a kooky parallel electric set up where gear for both the EMGs and the DD are present, with the active stuff additive on top of the passive. Up top it's Schaller Tuners, a kramer-esque tool holder on the back, and down below is an Original USA Floyd. All good things and battle hardened!
