A strong example of Yamaki’s golden-era acoustics, the YW-40 takes clear cues from the Martin D-28. Solid Ezo spruce top paired with laminated rosewood back and sides, nato neck with rosewood fingerboard, and bone saddle and nut. Herringbone purfling and diamond inlays tie the look together, while the subtle V-shaped neck carves out a comfortable vintage feel.
Big dreadnought projection with plenty of low-end thump and sparkling highs, making it an excellent Japanese-made alternative to its American inspiration.
