Description
1981 Ibanez what I suspect may be a prototype for the NW-40 model that came out a year later.
This guitar has no headstock logo, and yet this is very obviously an Ibanez headstock shape.
Greco branded tuners, not Ibanez (Greco and Ibanez of course were both made at the Fugigen Factory).
The pickguard is also a slightly different shape from the one that came out on the NW-40 model.
This guitar, recently lobbed to us directly from Japan, where, I suspect, it had spent all its life.
The guitar itself is in really nice, barely played condition, and with a serial that pre-dates the release of the NW Series by a year.
Also comes with an beaut brown expensive 80s TKL Case, and it looks as though it has been in that case its whole life.
Could be a factory employee build, though I doubt that guitar would have come home with anyone other than the design team before a new line was released..
It's an oddball, of which you are unlikely to find another.
Maple back and sides, Solid spruce top.
Sounds amazing.
Made in Japan. #A811044
