Description
I often get asked which guitar is my favourite in the shop at the moment. Many times this is absolutely impossible to answer, at any given time there are around 10 things I really really dig, for different reasons.
The kook, the build, the place in history that a guitar may reflect, and of course, what it does when you plug it in. However, at this moment, this is easily my pick, a 1959 Gibson Melody Maker.
Running stock aside from a small headstock break, and a changed bridge and studs (and one tuner bushing). Original '59 pots, Bumblebee cap (buzzzzz) and original wiring loom.
The pickup (being the slightly earlier wider single coil) twangs and barks with a touch more output than the sixties MM pickups.
Such an easy thing to play. Condition all over is very good.
Made in the USA and comes with a pasteboard case.
Take my word for it, this is ripper.
