Lovely 1960 Gretsch Clipper, and with a very early HiLo’Tron pickup example at that.
Thin hollow body construction makes it an especially comfortable stage guitar, light in the hands and the shoulders.
Original single-line 3-on-a-plate Kluson machine heads and a nice slim early ’60s neck.
Freshly serviced and set up with 11s, and it’s playing beautifully.
There is a slight hump in the neck, as is often seen on Gretsches from this period, but it does not affect playability.
I love these things... This is a super charming old Gretsch with loads of character and exactly the sort of thing that deserves to end up with a songwriter who’ll really make it their own.
