Description
I've been playing Jazzmasters for the better part of 25 years. Since owning my first vintage example, they've been my go-to solid body for the Fender flavour.
It's always a treat when we have pieces like this through the shop. These are becoming few and far between on the Australian market, and this one's an absolutely wonderful example.
1962 Fender 'pre-L' series Jazzmaster featuring a slab rosewood fingerboard. Three-Tone Sunburst complemented by a gorgeous tortoiseshell guard, with loads of honest patina from many years of being well loved.
In great condition for its age, it plays beautifully and sounds a treat. May 1962 neck date stamp, with a neck carve that feels more substantial than your typical '62. July 1962 cavity marking. Pots date to the 13th week of 1962.
It has had a professional refret, and there is clear overspray present on the body and neck.
As evidenced by the included receipt, this guitar was sold through premium vintage dealer Hyper Guitars in Japan a couple of years ago for the equivalent of around $26,000 AUD at the time. One's loss, someone else's gain.
Go forth, offset your troubles with this stunning instrument.
Comes with the original Fender hardcase.
Made in USA. SN 85019. Nice and light at 3.65kg.
