Description
Player grade '62 Fender Jazzmaster. Original sunburst finish has been stripped from the body and it has been refinished black at some point and then cherry red translucent stain. The headstock has also been refinished in a matching red stain and the Fender decal replaced with a later transition Fender logo. There is some light overspray on the back of the neck, and the guitar has been refretted with medium size frets. The body shows the correct routes and shielding plates for an early 60s Jazzmaster. The wiring loom is mostly intact with some extra soldering. Pots date to 1961 (volume) and 1962 (tone) The Bass Circuit thumb wheels are correct. The pickups have been replaced with what appears to be Seymour Duncan Jazzmaster pickups. The guitar has the original bridge and tremolo unit and the correct early tall bridge thimbles. The tremolo arm is a replacement. The volume and tone knobs are replacements. The original machine heads have been replaced. The previous owner, bought this in the early '90s, and while this may not be anywhere near the cleanest Jazzmaster in the world..but it is one hell of a great playing and sounding guitar..probably why the last he held on to it as long as he did. Made in the USA...comes with a hard shell case. #80223 Weight: 3.55kgs
